2024 promises to be an explosive year for wGroup, with a series of exciting tournaments being launched. With a mission to contribute to the development of the golf community in Vietnam, wGroup continues to develop and create new playgrounds, new formats, and opportunities for Vietnamese golfers to interact and learn. Notable milestones include the WGHN Club Match Play Series and WGHN Tournament race to South Africa, which have garnered significant interest from golfers and enthusiasts of the sport.

In line with this mission, wGroup are always aware of our  responsibility to the country and our people. On the occasion of the commemoration of the Hung Kings, wGroup has decided to organize the King's Cup 2024". This is an opportunity for wGroup to honor the tradition of "Towards the Source, Grateful to our Ancestors" and to spread the spirit of national unity even further.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Duc, Chairman of B.O.D of wGroup, made a statement at the King's Cup tournament announcement event.

There will be qualifying rounds held in both the northern and southern regions to select team members through stroke play format. The southern region qualifiers will take place on Mar 5th, and the northern region qualifiers on Mar 7th. All professional and amateur golfers with a Handicap Index of 6.0 or lower are eligible to participate. After the qualifying rounds, each team will select a maximum of 24 outstanding golfers to form their team. The showdown between the Northern and Southern teams to determine the champion will be held at Thanh Lanh Valley Golf & Resort on Apr 16th-17th.

Continuing the mission of promoting the development of golf in Vietnam, the organizers have decided to award a prize worth 1 billion VND to the championship team and 500 million VND to the runner-up team. Additionally, a sponsorship of 100 million VND will be provided for the transportation of the Southern team to the North for the final match. Alongside these prizes, the competition attire will be sponsored and specially designed for the teams by Handee Golf Fashion.

Also on Jan 30th, wGroup announced the schedule for three tournaments in the WGHN Matchplay Series 2024, which will take place in the three regions of "North, Central, and South" in Vietnam. Maintaining the unique and exciting four-ball match play format, the tournament continues to be expected as an annual and attractive playground for those who love competitive golf in Vietnam. As a representative of the organizing committee, Mr. Nguyen Hong Duc, wGroup chairman of the B.O.D, shared: "wGroup is always aware of our responsibility and mission to the nation as a whole, as well as the golf community in particular. All of wGroup's tournaments are carefully considered, developed, and improved to meet the needs of the sport of golf, while also contributing to spreading the strength and stature of Vietnamese sports on the international stage."

With continuous contributions and dedication, golf tournaments will continue to expand in 2024. While the King's Cup is a competition for highly skilled amateur and professional athletes, series such as the WGHN Club Matchplay Series or the WGHN Tournament Race to SA are being renewed and specifically adjusted for amateur golfers. wGroup expects to provide interesting playgrounds and exciting experiences for golf enthusiasts in Vietnam.
